Hypospermia is a condition in which a man has less volume of ejaculation, which is usually less than 1.5 mL. A normal can ejaculate from 1.5-6 mL of semen during orgasm. The symptom of this condition is the same- i.e. less ejaculation, but causes can be many. Some of the causes of Hypospermia can be noted as ejaculatory dysfunctions, anatomical defects that include some mutations, blockage of ejaculatory duct, hypogonadism, intake of drugs like immunosuppressant, salicylates, opiates, antidepressants; obesity, excessive intake of alcohol, exposure to heavy metals, etc.
‘Alpa Shukra’ is the term for Hypospermia in the ayurvedic test. This condition is caused due to vitiation of Vata dosha- i.e. Vata dushti and leads to lesser volume during ejaculation.
As the main cause of Hypospermia is the vitiation of Vata dosha, it needs to be balanced first. For this various treatments like Basti and vamana are employed. Along with this, herbs like ashwagandha, mucuna pruriens, shilajit, musli, etc. are also given to rejuvenate the shukra dhatu and reverse the condition. In some cases Vajikarna therapy is also recommended in order to maintain good sexual health, which includes curing Hypospermia as well.
Unlike other treatment procedures that jump straight to symptom management, we address the root-cause of the disease. Our treatment for Men's Conditions has proved to achieve a near cure and symptom-free state. We focus on diet, use of potent herbs, meditation, therapies with herbal oils and yoga. These classical practices have proven to be very helpful in our Men's Conditions Treatment.
Hypospermia can be caused by a number of different illnesses or anomalies. Trauma related to exercise or surgery has been linked to male reproductive system issues. Congenital abnormalities and lifestyle choices are other factors.

The ayurvedic treatment for hypospermia includes following steps:
Above treatment is also accompanied by a balanced diet and exercise regimen that help in boosting metabolism and pacifying the effects of vitiated doshas.
“The ayurvedic approach of disease looks for the root cause and not merely the symptoms. The basic principles of Ayurveda consider an individual human a specific identity and hence his treatment giving importance to the treatment of the patient rather than the treatment of the disease.”
“Since Ayurveda focuses on the root-cause of the disease, it effectively reduces the risk of severe health complications arising out of the untreated underlying cause. Patients who complete their Ayurveda treatment have a reduced risk of health complications later.”
