Why EliteAyurveda

How Does Our Men's Conditions for Oligospermia Treatment Benefit You?

Oligospermia is a condition in which a man has lower sperm count during ejaculation. If the sperm count is less than 15 million sperms per milliliter of semen, it is considered as low sperm count. This reduces the chances of an egg getting fertilized. The symptoms of this condition may include- erectile dysfunction, lower libido, pain and swelling in the testicle area, or decreased facial and body hairs. The causes of Oligospermia are several which includes varicocele, infections like epididymis, orchitis, HVI; ejaculation problems; retrograde ejaculation, antibody attack to sperm, tumors, hormone imbalance, chromosome defect, etc.
‘Shukra kashya’ is the term for Oligospermia in ayurvedic text. This condition causes napunsakta in men. Shukra kashya is caused due to vitiation of Pitta dosha, which leads to deterioration of shukra dhatu. Further, this vitiation of Pitta dosha causes imbalances in other doshas and starts showing symptoms like low libido which is accumulation of Kapha and Vata dosha; erectile dysfunction which is accumulation of Vata dosha, and so on.
The treatment of Oligospermia in ayurveda focuses on elimination of the root cause of the disease, which in this case is vitiation of doshas. Panchakarma therapy is employed in order to cleanse the body. This therapy involves shirodhara, Virechana (induced purgation), and vasti (medicated enemas). Further, the treatment is also accompanied with intake of oral herbal formulations which include ashwagandha, shilajit, safed musli, etc. It is followed by Vajikarana therapy (aphrodisiac medicine) that helps in rejuvenation of shukra dhatu and improves sperm quality and quantity. This line of treatment helps in complete reversal of the condition in a holistic approach.

Unlike other treatment procedures that jump straight to symptom management, we address the root-cause of the disease. Our treatment for Men's Conditions has proved to achieve a near cure and symptom-free state. We focus on diet, use of potent herbs, meditation, therapies with herbal oils and yoga. These classical practices have proven to be very helpful in our Men's Conditions Treatment.

Causes

Medical Causes

  1. Varicocele: It is the swelling of the veins that drain the testicles, leading to low sperm count.
  2. Infection: Certain infections like epididymis, orchitis, HIV, or gonorrhea have a direct impact on sperm quantity and quality.
  3. Ejaculation problems: Retrograde ejaculation in which the semen besides passing through penis passes through bladder, causes decrease in sperm count while having an orgasm.
  4. Tumors: Tumors can directly affect the sperm count as it directly affects the glands that release hormones related to reproduction.
  5. Undescended testicles: One or both testicles may fail to descend from the abdomen into the sac that typically holds the testicles during fetal development (scrotum). Men with this illness are more likely to have lower fertility.
  6. Hormonal imbalances: the hormones necessary for the development of sperms are produced by pituitary glands, hypothalamus and testicles. Any changes in this production may lead to impairment in sperm production.
  7. Other causes of low sperm count are defects in the tubules that transport sperm, chromosome defects like Klinefelter’s syndrome, celiac disease, chemotherapy, and any prior surgeries, affect the sperm count.

Environmental causes

  1. Industrial chemicals: Over exposure to chemicals like benzene, toluene, xylene, herbicides, pesticides, organic solvents, etc. may lead to low sperm count.
  2. Overheating the testicles: higher temperatures of testicles leads to impaired sperm production, that can be caused due to frequent use of hot tubs or saunas

Other reasons include- exposure to heavy metals and radiations like X-rays.

Lifestyle causes

These causes include- obesity, excessive intake of alcohol, drug usage, tobacco smoking, emotional distress, depression, occupations such as truck driving, etc. also affect the sperm count.
