Spondylolisthesis occurs when one vertebra slips forward over the one below it. Spondylolisthesis is a common source of lower back and leg pain in younger adults (ages 30 to 50), while degenerative spondylolisthesis is a prevalent cause of pain in older persons (ages 50 and up).
Spinal vertebrae provide strength and rigidity to the spine, Discs and joints provide flexibility.
It moves because of the joints. One major task in these three areas is to balance movement and stability. A ring-like cage placed on the posterior side of the vertebral body known as the pars interarticularis can perform this function. This ensures that two bones remain properly aligned at all times!
We focus on the underlying cause of the problem. We use a three-pronged approach, similar to other problems: Ayurvedic Medicine, Panchakarma, and Yoga.
The purpose of Ayurvedic medications is to relax the body. According to Ayurveda, all neuro-skeletal-muscular issues fall under one disease, Vata Vyadhi. Medicines balance the vata dosha. When the Doshas are balanced, the body's balance becomes natural.
Panchakarma causes muscles and ligaments to relax. This allows us to proceed to the next stage of treatment, Yoga.
Yoga can help with bone manipulation. Yoga Asanas (postures) aim to restore the body's natural posture. This natural stance ensures a natural "S" shaped spine. Yoga is more effective at restoring the body's normal internal conditions. That, too, without the use of any manual or passive manipulation.

“The ayurvedic approach of disease looks for the root cause and not merely the symptoms. The basic principles of Ayurveda consider an individual human a specific identity and hence his treatment giving importance to the treatment of the patient rather than the treatment of the disease.”
“Since Ayurveda focuses on the root-cause of the disease, it effectively reduces the risk of severe health complications arising out of the untreated underlying cause. Patients who complete their Ayurveda treatment have a reduced risk of health complications later.”
"Heal your body naturally with 5000-year-old knowledge of Ayurveda and Modern Science. From its authenticity, structured approach and personalisation play a very important role in complementing the effect of medicines as well as sustaining the benefit of treatment after the medicines have ended."
Fracture of Pars Interarticularis - This disease results in two distinct conditions-
Breakage of the Pars interarticularis is a typical feature of both spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis. The fundamental distinction is that in spondylosis, the damaged interarticularis does not leave the space and remains whole, whereas in spondylolisthesis, the broken pieces migrate apart.
The bulkiest section of the vertebrae is located on the outside. This position is characterized as lordosis in the cervical and lumbar regions, and kyphosis in the dorsal section. Behind this design is a canal--the spinal canal. This canal houses the continuation of the brain-spinal cord pathway. There are two nerve roots on each level of the spinal column. This canal is essential to the spine. The architecture of the spine is like this solely for the spinal cord. If one vertebrae slips on the other, it will cause interference in the canal. This impediment leads the canal to get clogged. It irritates the nerves. As a result, it is a critical condition for the spine. As a result, spondylolisthesis, also known as listhesis, is a serious disorder.
Listhesis Types - In general, there are two forms of listhesis: anterior and posterior listhesis. In MRIs, radiologists refer to posterior listhesis as - retrolisthesis. For example, retrolisthesis of L5 over S1 indicates that L5 has shifted to the posterior side (towards the back). When the disease arises anteriorly, it is known as anterolisthesis of the L5 over the S1.
This can happen in any vertebrae. However, it is most common in the lumbar region. Particularly between the vertebrae L4-L5-S1. Listhesis can occur in the cervical region in some circumstances. The dorsal or thoracic region is impervious to listhesis.
The number of vertebrae that have slipped over each other determines the severity of the condition. This only applies to slipping levels. A Grade I listhesis occurs when the slippage is less than 25%. The same slippage is grade II spondylolisthesis when it is between 25 and 50%. Listhesis grade III is 50-75%, and listhesis grade IV is greater than this.
Things will continue to deteriorate if you ignore the situation.
One of the most common causes of spondylolisthesis in young athletes is overexertion of the spine. Genetics may also play a role. Some people have thinner spinal bone at birth. Wear and strain on the spine and discs (the cushions between vertebrae) in elderly persons can develop this ailment.
You may not have any spondylolisthesis symptoms. Some people have the illness and are completely unaware of it. Lower back pain is usually the most prominent symptom. The discomfort may spread to the buttocks and down the thighs. You may also encounter:
Hamstring muscle spasms (muscle spasms at the back of the thighs).
Stiffness in the back.
Difficulty walking or standing for extended periods of time.
When leaning over, there is pain.
Foot numbness, weakness, or tingling.
